Experienced grief counsellors, end of life practitioners and advocates for talking about bereavement.

Meet the two authors of Surviving The Tsunami of Grief , Katrina Taee and Wendelien McNicoll, and the talented illustrator who visualised the journey of grief, Ruth Thorp.

Katrina Taee

Katrina was a BACP Senior Accredited counsellor specialising in grief. She has over 18 years of professional experience, a large part of which was spent counselling in a voluntary capacity at Thames Hospice as part of their Bereavement Care Team alongside running her own private practice. She came into that profession from a nursing background but now works as an End of Life Doula with Living Well Dying Well .

She has always used her own varied experiences of grief to enrich her work and enjoys teaching people about grief, bereavement and end of life issues. Her passion also lies in her leadership of the Jonathan Conville Memorial Trust, a charity which offers mountaineering training to young adults, which was inspired by the death of her brother in a mountaineering accident.

Katrina talked to Tim Arthur on BBC Radio London about her work as a doula and grief: Listen Now

Ruth Thorp

Ruth is a designer and illustrator based in Bath. She creates her own range of illustrated products and collaborates on various creative projects and commissions. Inspired by the natural world she loves to play with colour, bold graphics and minimalist layouts to create beautiful pieces that make people smile. She has a degree in Architecture from the University of Bath.

Ruth's ethos of design parallels her belief that a life should be built on happiness and a sense of pride and worth which can touch others in a positive light. She brought this intention to this project, creating stunning illustrations that echo the process of grief felt by so many.
